Winter Workers at Age UK Lambeth offering help

Help is available for older or frail and disabled residents of Lambeth who may suffer because of this cold weather.

If you can't get out due to snow, ice, or extreme cold and would like to request help from the Winter Workers, or perhaps you are keen to volunteer to become one yourself, call Age UK Lambeth on 020 7346 6818 or visit www.ageuklambeth.org.uk

Winter Workers may be able to help:

  • do some light shopping
  • collect prescriptions
  • have a volunteer visit you


The handyperson service can:

  • draft proof your doors and windows
  • provide radiator reflectors
  • provide a cold temperature alarm
  • advise how to keep warm during the cold snap


Winter Workers can help you prepare for further cold weather by telling you about welfare benefits advice grants for home insulation advice and possible grants about

  • repairing your home
  • advice about fuel efficiency


Cold weather and snow can have serious consequences for older people.  It doesn't take much time to call on any older or frail neighbour to check they're ok offer to collect some shopping for them or walk their pet tell them about the Age UK Lambeth Warm and Well in Winter scheme
