Parent and children’s group in Lambeth Accord?

Louise Holden from Carers Hub Lambeth met with Angela from Brixton Inclusive recently to find out about what they are offering to Lambeth residents and how we could work together to provide support for Parent Carers in the area.

Brixton Inclusive is a Lambeth based Interdisciplinary Arts Organisation for 7 – 18 years old.  One of the services they offer is to run either multi-ability or specific ability groups.  The groups can be tailored to the children’s needs and can provide a safe environment for children to explore and develop their own unique abilities and talents in a creative way.  The aims of Brixton Inclusive are to celebrate difference and individuality and build positive relationships with the participants to engage and inspire them to build more confidence and self-esteem in their lives.

We discussed developing regular groups for parents and children at Lambeth Accord where parents could relax together for a few hours while the children could be involved in a creative project for example, learning to sing or dance.

·         Are you a parent with a disabled child between 7 -18?

·         Would you like to come to a regular group with your child and meet other parents?

·         Are you an organisation working with parents of disabled children?

·         As an organisation, would you like to organise a group with Brixton Inclusive for your clients?

Please contact Louise at Carers Hub Lambeth at connect@carershub.org.uk or 020 7642 0038 so we can build up an idea of the amount of interest for this offer.

If enough people register their interest, the Carers Hub will work with Brixton Inclusive to develop this offer further.
