April is Bowel Cancer Awareness month. If you are worried about any symptoms that you think might be caused by bowel cancer, make an appointment with your doctor.

Just remember you'll not be wasting anyone's time by getting checked out. If it isn't serious, you'll put your mind at rest. If it's bowel cancer, early detection can make all the difference. Over 90% who are diagnosed at the earliest stage are successfully treated. So a trip to your doctor could save your life.

Allergy UK running an awareness week from April 20th to 26th to draw attention to the plight of the allergy sufferer. This week highlights the issues faced by those with allergies, and are designed to get people talking about allergy at key times throughout the year.Through Allergy UK’s website, people are able to receive individual advice and download fact sheets on all aspects of allergy.www.allergyuk.org

On the 17th of October 2013, Mind Yourself launched a group for the London Irish Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community at the Irish Embassy. The group was established following a one off meeting earlier in the year on the Constitutional Convention on Sex Same Marriage. People who attended that meeting expressed an interest in organising a social and support group for the London Irish LGBT community. It is the first such group in London since the 1980’s. We are very proud of this group as it has developed and grown throughout the years. It is important to have such a service to the LGBT community, especially now with the pending referendum in Ireland on marriage equality.
