Lambeth Transport Action Group
Dear members and friends,
Next Friday, 12th October, Lambeth Transport Action Group members are taking action for a more accessible Brixton.
We’ll be taking local councillors and council officers on a walking tour of central Brixton, to highlight what it’s like to use the area as an older or disabled person.
· Are you annoyed by street clutter and A-boards around the market making it difficult to walk or wheel on the pavement?
· Are there things that could be done to improve kerbs? Or are there enough places to sit down?
· How about the bus stops? What would make them easier to use?
· What about signage in the area – are there ways it could be improved?
We’ll meet in an accessible venue near the station in Brixton, then head out with councillors to walk around the area, then meet back and evaluate.
Time: 11am – 1pm. There are limited spaces, so if you would like to come, please phone or email to confirm and we will let you know the meeting place.
We aim to ensure that people with a variety of impairments are represented, please feel free to pass this invitation on.
