South Thames Crossroads is a well-established Charity that provides support to carers and those they care for. We work in the London Boroughs of Merton, Sutton, Wandsworth, Croydon and Lambeth. We are currently recruiting to the following posts:

Young Carers Manager – Lambeth £29,575 per annum

You will develop our well-established young carers service in Lambeth. Based in Streatham the services help children/young people from the age of 5 - 18 years old who care for someone with physical or mental health needs. You will manage a small team of staff and volunteers and provide one to one and group work with the young carers. It is essential that you have the ability to relate to young people and have a genuine desire to support them in improving the quality of their life, have a break and participate in a range of activities. You must have a relevant professional qualification, experience of project development, staff or volunteer management, and significant experience of work with young people. An understanding of the needs of young carers is desirable. Interview date: 20th February 2013

Deputy Carers Hub Manager  £29,575 per annum

Working as part of our Carers Hub Team in Streatham you will be specifically responsible for services that support the adult carers of those with mental health issues. You will manage the Development and Support worker as well as recruiting and managing volunteers as appropriate.  The Hub has been successfully operating for three years and provides information, support and advocacy services for carers within Lambeth. Under the direction of the Hub Manager you will contribute to the whole Hub programme and deputise for the Manager as necessary. The Hub is a consortium project with South Thames Crossroads as lead partner. The consortium currently consists of Age UK Lambeth, Disability Advice Service Lambeth (DASL) and Lambeth Mencap. You must have experience of managing staff or volunteers, hold a relevant management/professional qualification and be able to provide advice and support on mental health issues/access to services, to carers, immediate staff and the rest of the Hub team.
