Invitation to discuss transforming care for people with learning disabilties or Autism

Dear carers, parents and family members

Invitation to discuss Lambeth’s implementation of Transforming Care for people with Learning Disabilities and / or Autism

We would like to invite you to an engagement event about Lambeth’s proposals around Transforming Care.

The government wants to move everyone with a learning disability and/or autism out of hospital who should not be there.

The government’s plan is to spend more money on people at home, so hospitals and secure units can close.

Engage with us and help shape Lambeth’s plans.

We are especially keen to hear from you if you have been resident in a hospital or secure unit, or have a family member who has.

You don’t have to come if you don’t want to, but we would love to see you there, and everyone is welcome.

Date:  Friday 19 February 2016

From: 10.00am to 1.00pm

At: ”We are 336” Lambeth Accord, 336 Brixton Road, London SW9 7AA in the Large Room

The event will include some short presentations,  followed by time to ask questions. There will then be short discussion groups. You are very welcome to come along to hear about the plans and, if you would like, get involved in the discussions.

Please do let us know if you are able to come along. If you have any questions about the event, or if you have any communication or transport needs, please contact us on Freephone 0800 013 1497 or send an email to acs-consultation@lambeth.gov.uk

We look forward to meeting you on 19 February.

Yours sincerely

Fiona Connolly
