Dementia Awareness Training

After diagnosis: Caring for Someone with Dementia

Eight individual two-hour workshops

These eight workshops are for carers of people who have already received a diagnosis of dementia and who want more information about what the diagnosis means and what they might expect along the way.

It is also a chance for carers to meet others with similar experiences, and will hopefully provide a friendly space to share experiences and offer support to one another.

They have been co-produced by carers and ex-carers of people with dementia working alongside staff from SLaM’s Older Adult services.

Each session covers a different topic and you can enrol in one, several or all of the workshops and they are all free of charge.

All sessions are held on Tuesday between May 2015 and June 2015.
