DASL professional advocacy position






35 hours per week

Salary £27,945 per annum (inclusive of Inner London Weighting)


DASL is an established Disabled People’s Organisation providing a range of advice, information, professional advocacy, Personal Budgets support and peer support services to disabled people, and to older people and carers, in Lambeth.


We have been commissioned by Lambeth Council since 2011 to provide an issue-based Professional Advocacy service to disabled and older people and from April 2015 this has been extended to include carers. It is one of the key services being delivered by DASL for the Lambeth Independent Living and Carers’ Partnership, in which we are working with other local voluntary sector organisations. Our service includes statutory Care Act advocacy but is not responsible for the IMCA or IMHA services for Lambeth.


We are seeking to appoint an advocate to complete our small, experienced team as soon as possible. Reporting to the Advocacy Team Leader, you will carry a diverse and challenging caseload and help us to deliver a high quality, responsive service to meet the needs of clients referred under the Care Act and through other routes.


Our preference is for a person who holds, or is currently working towards, a recognised and accredited advocacy qualification such as the Certificate/Diploma in Independent Advocacy (at Level 3), but we will also consider applicants who can demonstrate relevant experience in a formal or informal advocacy role.
