Celebrate the golden days of cinema at a Reminiscence screening near you!

Reminiscence screenings are regular movie showings for anyone who enjoys a bit of cinematic nostalgia - film lovers young and old are treated to a slice of film history and a complimentary cup of tea or coffee.

Classic film screenings take place once a month with an informal introduction and discussion afterwards with a film expert, at a reduced ticket price for the over 60s.

Please see below for other events that may appeal including a Silver Screen Special from the Argentine Film Festival and Fringe Festival at Hackney Picturehouse, and a Celebrating Age Special at The Ritzy!

MAY

THIS SPORTING LIFE
Dir. Lindsay Anderson | UK 1963 | 134 min | Cert 12A
Lindsay Anderson’s directorial debut is widely recognised as a high point of the British new wave. In a powerhouse performance which won him the Best Actor award at Cannes, Richard Harris plays an inarticulate but gifted rugby league player who embarks on a passionate affair with his landlady (Rachel Roberts, who won the BAFTA for Best British Actress).

Screenings of THIS SPORTING LIFE will be introduced by resident film expert Graham Rinaldi, who will also host an informal discussion afterwards (except at The Gate, due to space and scheduling restrictions, as it is a one-screen cinema).
