FW: Paradigm is running Be Free 2015 on 7-9 August in Essex

Dear Family Carer,

Paradigm is running Be Free 2015 on 7-9 August in the beautiful countryside of Gilwell Park in Essex.

It is a magical few days for young people and adults with people with learning disabilities, their families, supporters and friends: when people can chill out (by camp fires toasting marshmallows) or try the adrenaline rush of adventure challenges like the zip wire or 3G swing!! There is a whole range of entertainment from silent discos, Big Picnics, Bands, DJ workshops, The Big Tea Party, Arts Workshops, Music Workshops, and a Pamper Zone. You can find out all about it at http://www.paradigm-uk.org/events-training/free-festival/

Be Free 2015 is about people coming together and making connections; trying new things and discovering new passions. Following Be Free 2014 people told us that the experience helped them to reflect on the way they live their lives now, how they want things to change and what good support really looks like!

You can stay in lodges, in bell tents that have mattresses or bring your own tent.

If you would like to book your ticket, please call them on 020 8870 8643 or email Lore on loreb@paradigm-uk.orgor book your ticket online at paradigm-uk.org/events-training/free-festival/

A 3 Day Pass is £185 + VAT and a Saturday Pass is £50 +VAT

‘We sent along 7 people we support with 8 staff and each and every one of them had a life changing experience. The people we supported by trying new things, and pushing their comfort zones and the staff by standing back and letting them do it.

Unfortunately we do wrap people up in cotton wool and staff are too afraid to push the boundaries. Its amazing to hear from my staff what a profound experience they had in a really short period of time. I’m sure people will be talking about this for a very long time to come. Roll on 2015!’ Michelle (Manager at a housing provider)

‘I’ve been frightened of fire but with encouragement, I lit the campfire. I felt so happy seeing everyone enjoying it.’ Amber (Volunteer 2014)

Come Be Free with us mud, rain and shine on 7-9 August 2015! 
