Mental Health Specialist Service
On 12th July, Carers’ Hub Lambeth took over the services previously provided by Making Space for carers of people affected by mental health problems.
The specialist mental health service for Lambeth carers provides:
One to One Support:
Individual and flexible support incorporating information, advice, guidance, advocacy and appropriate signposting and referral.
Monthly Mental Health Carers Groups:
Take place on the second Thursday of every month from 6-9pm at SHaRP 308 Brixton Road, London, SW9 6AA (see newsletter or monthly calendar for more specific details about the group).
Each monthly group has a double focus with the first part of the session being used for a relevant speaker and the second half dedicated to peer support. Thereis a light buffet and refreshments at each group.
Carers Hub Afternoon Tea’s (CHAT’s):
Weekly drop-in sessions for advice, information and support.
Drop-in for a ‘cuppa and a chat’ every Monday from 2-3.30pm at The Carers Hub, Woodlawns, 16 Leigham Court Road, Streatham, SW16 2PJ .
Monthly mental health carers newsletter (website or email only).
Support to access Fix Yourself a Break grants and personal budgets.
Carers Development Network Meetings:
Are you involved in Mental Health and want to use your experiences to develop and improve Mental Health Services?
The Network Meetings are for carers to give their views about the service we provide, to say what they need and to take a role in planning new projects and making them happen. This group meets every other month, on the second Thursday of the month. Please contact the service on the details below for more details.
Our goal is to develop a service, in conjunction with you, that meets your needs and is both accessible and diverse.
Over the coming months we hope to implement many new initiatives and services with you at the heart of them. It is your service so it will need your input and support to flourish.
